All sixth graders get to pick choir, orchestra or band. Alex picked band. Then they go to instrument auditions to see which instrument fits them best. So although he wanted to play the trumpet he became a trombone player! Except for having to carry the big thing to and from school, I haven't heard any complaints from him, not even when he has to practice 30 minutes a day. These are pictures from his first band concert in November.

Halloween x 3
Hayley's Hawk team had a fun Halloween party for the players and cheerleaders.
They had hay rides, chili, cider, trunk or treating and bon fires.

Our ward trunk or treat...
(Hayley liked sewing so much she wanted to try and make an apron for her doll, so we made a pattern and Hayley sewed it up)

Hayley and her friends messing around before it started.
Hayley tried out to sing in a small group and made it. Don't you think she did a great job?
Daddy Daughter Date
Welcome to our Daddy Daughter Messy Fun Night
Before...
They ate sloppy Joes
They had to ask each other questions on how much they knew of each other.
Then it was time to get ready for the date...
...first Dad needed a shave...
..then a little help dressing up with a tie...
...then Dad got to help Hayley do her hair all nice...
...After!!!
Red Dragons and Hawks
Good job Alex!
This is new, and a little scary to watch as a parent.
The girls were so excited when Amber came to watch them cheer.

Oreo
By working extra hard in school, and overcoming her struggle with math, Hayley earned a reward. She picked a guinea pig and named her Oreo.
