SMU Trip

SMU honored all the Allen Football Players and Cheerleaders before their game this last Saturday. Amber and I branched out and took the DART downtown to the game with Alex and Seth. The boys thought the ride was pretty great, although a little long. And they also enjoyed the game and cheering in a section full of kids they knew.

When we got to the game everyone wearing a uniform followed the band out onto the field and got to stand in the end zone as the teams warmed up and the national anthem was sung.
If you look real close, you might be able to see Alex in the group of red on the far left. (He's the one mixed in with all the Longhorns.)

The Outlaws

Geoff started up a city league softball team called The Outlaws.
And although he doesn't like his picture taken I got a candid one of him and Ryan.
No, they didn't win their first game, but we have hope for them yet.
The game was so fun to watch, I decided that big boys like, and need to play
sports as much as the little boys.
So Good Luck Geoff, and have fun!!!
Geoff is 8 just like Alex,
isn't that cute?

Hayley has been learning cheers during recess, and she enjoyed teaching them to her friends at the game. Our boys might not have won, but you wouldn't know it from their cheering squad.

Labor Day

Labor Day marks the opening of Dove season, so Geoff, along with several of his friends, went on a weekend camping trip to try his luck. Here you can see Oscar sneaking into Geoff's bag. But alas, he isn't meant to be a bird dog. The kids and I went out to Lake Lavon with some friends to enjoy their last free day in the sun. Not quite a Hawaiian beach, but the kids enjoyed the water, food, and friends.
Alex on his boogey board. He was able to catch
an occasional wave from passing boats.
Hayley and her friend Tera had fun just floating in their tubes.
Although with the strong wind they kept washing up down the beach
and had to hike back.

The kids just enjoying the sand. We never really saw a sandcastle, but not for lack of effort or sand!
